Dr. Deliah Wagner

Dr. Deliah Wagner is a research associate at the ZKFS and heads the Panel on Perceptions of Crime and Offenders (PaWaKS). She studied psychology at the FernUniversität in Hagen and the Friedrich Schiller University in Jena and completed her doctorate in political psychology in 2021 in the graduate school “International Max Planck Research School on Adapting Behavior in a Fundamentally Uncertain World” of the Max Planck Institute for Research on Collective Goods in Bonn and the University of Jena.


Her research focuses on political attitudes, social identity, threat and crime perceptions, stereotypes and motivated cognition. A particular focus is on the underlying psychological mechanisms and contextual factors that shape these attitudes and perceptions. In her research, she also examines the effects of political polarization and how identity processes influence the perception of threats and crime.
