Kristin Weber is a research associate at the ZKFS. As a criminologist and sociologist, her research focuses on the following areas: Radicalization, extremism, terrorism, prejudice and hate crime as well as victimology, (practice-& application-oriented) police research, intercultural competence in the police forces, network analysis and violence research. She completed her doctorate at the German Police University in Münster-Hiltrup on the subject of “Islamist terrorism in Germany – analysis of offender profiles of German Syrian returnees on the basis of court files”.
From 2015 to March 2023, she worked on various research projects at the German Police University, including “RIKO – Risk Management of Corruption from the Perspective of Companies, Municipalities and Police”, “X-Sonar – Analysis of Extremist Aspirations in Social Networks” and “ZuRecht – Die Polizei in der offenen Gesellschaft”.
She is a member of the Radicalization awareness network (RAN-Pol), DemoPolis – nationwide police network for diversity and democracy.
